For Ethereum Towers, a massive virtual metaverse world with 4,388 apartments across 202 floors, we built the cross-platform experience from the ground up – delivering a fully immersive VR world on Meta Quest headsets alongside a browser-based WebGL companion, all connected to the Ethereum blockchain for NFT apartment ownership.

The challenge
Ethereum Worlds Limited had an ambitious vision – build a metaverse that anyone could use, not just gamers or VR enthusiasts. Most metaverse projects at the time focused on crypto-native audiences with steep learning curves. Ethereum Towers needed to feel accessible to people who had never worn a headset or owned an NFT.
The scale was significant: 4,388 customisable apartments across 202 floors in two architecturally designed towers, with communal spaces, commercial zones, and social features. All of this needed to work seamlessly across VR headsets and web browsers – two very different platforms with very different performance constraints.
Our approach
We started with the cross-platform architecture. Building a single Unity codebase that could deliver a fully immersive VR experience on Meta Quest while also running smoothly as a WebGL application in a standard browser required careful planning from day one. These aren't small optimisation tweaks – they're fundamentally different rendering targets with different input systems, memory budgets, and interaction models.
The design philosophy centred on accessibility. We built bespoke apartment customisation tools that mirror real-world interactions – placing walls, moving furniture, choosing finishes – all with intuitive controls that feel natural whether you're using VR controllers or a mouse and keyboard. The goal was a platform where non-technical users could personalise their space without a tutorial.
The results
Ethereum Towers gained significant traction in the Web3 space. The project appeared on a16z's Top 30 Metaverse Land Sales list – a major recognition from one of the world's leading venture capital firms. More than $2 million has traded on OpenSea, and the collection has over 1,600 unique owners, and the project was featured on a Times Square digital billboard.
Press coverage included Yahoo Finance, Investing.com, Benzinga, and DappRadar. The free-to-mint launch of Tower 1 generated over 40 collaborations with other Web3 projects, establishing Ethereum Towers as a recognised name in the metaverse space.
