Who we are
Unity Developers is a trading name of Realtime Tech Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 11073804), Sunrise, Chawston Lane, Bedford MK44 3BH. We are the controller of the personal data described here. Questions about this policy or your data: hello@unitydevelopers.co.uk.
What we collect and why
When you talk to Lucy, our website assistant
Lucy is an AI assistant that answers questions about our work and helps arrange a discovery call. When you chat with her we keep:
- your messages and her replies
- anything you tell her about yourself and your project, such as your name, work email, phone number, organisation, role, platforms, timing and budget range
- her assessment of whether the project is a fit for a call (a short summary and a score)
- a one-way hash of your IP address, used only to stop abuse and limit how many messages can be sent
We use this to answer your enquiry, decide with you whether a call makes sense, arrange it and follow up. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us, and taking steps at your request before entering into a contract.
Lucy’s assessment only decides whether she offers a call in the chat. It has no legal or similarly significant effect, every enquiry can be reviewed by a person, and you can always email or phone us directly instead.
When we arrange or hold a call
If you choose a call time, Greg Lukosek is notified (by Slack and text message) with a short summary, and the confirmed call is sent to your email as a calendar invitation with a video link.
When you email or phone us
We keep the correspondence and the details you give us, to reply and to manage any work we do together.
When you browse the site
-
Our own visit counting, without cookies. We record:
- the page, and the website or AI assistant that referred you
- the previous page you viewed on this site
- any campaign tags in the link
- the type of device, the browser window’s size, and the country
- how long the page was in active use and how far down you scrolled
- where on the page you clicked, and on which link or button
- what you did on the page:
- questions opened
- films played
- searches in our articles
- contact form steps, never their contents
- whether you chatted with Lucy
- page speed
- your cookie choice
Nothing ties your page views together into a visit or to you. We never record what you write in the contact form or the chat. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in understanding how our website is used and improving it.
-
Google Analytics, only if you accept analytics cookies. It records how the site is used:
- pages viewed and how you arrived
- links, buttons and questions used
- searches in our articles, films played, how far you read, page speed
It is not given your name, email address, messages or anything you write in the contact form or the chat.
-
Google Ads measurement and Leadfeeder, only if you accept marketing cookies.
- Google Ads is told that an enquiry or booking happened, not its content.
- Leadfeeder identifies the company behind a business visit.
For analytics and marketing our legal basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time. The cookies, and how long each lasts, are listed in our cookies policy.
Who we share it with
We do not sell personal data. We use these providers to run the site and our business, under contracts that require them to protect it:
| Provider | What for |
|---|---|
| Amazon Web Services | Hosting the website and Lucy, storing conversations (London region), sending text messages to us and email confirmations to you |
| Anthropic | The AI model behind Lucy; your messages are sent to it to write her replies. Under its commercial terms Anthropic does not use these conversations to train its models |
| Google Workspace | Email and calendar, including call invitations |
| Pipedrive | Our customer relationship system, for enquiries that are a good fit for a call |
| Slack | Notifying our team about call requests |
| Google (Analytics and Ads) | Website statistics and advert measurement, only with your consent, as described in the cookies policy |
| Leadfeeder (Dealfront) | Identifying the companies that visit, only with your consent |
We may also disclose data where the law requires it.
International transfers
Some providers process data outside the UK, mainly in the United States and the European Economic Area. Where they do, we rely on the UK’s approved safeguards, such as adequacy regulations (including the UK–US data bridge) or the UK International Data Transfer Addendum to standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
- Conversations with Lucy: deleted automatically after 180 days.
- Enquiries and contacts in our CRM, and our correspondence: kept while we are in contact with you about a project, then deleted or anonymised, unless we need them for a contract we have with you or a legal obligation such as accounting records.
- IP address hashes: in short-lived counters that expire within an hour, and with the conversation they belong to (deleted with it).
- Our own visit statistics: page views are kept for 400 days, and the detail of time, scrolling, clicks and actions for 90 days; daily totals worked out from them, which say nothing about any one visit, are kept for up to three years. None of it identifies you.
- Google Analytics: visit data is kept for up to 14 months, then deleted by Google.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or move it to another provider. Where we rely on your consent (analytics and advertising cookies), you can withdraw it at any time with “cookie settings” in the footer.
To use any of these rights, email hello@unitydevelopers.co.uk. We will reply within one month. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk), though we would appreciate the chance to help first.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and access is limited to the people who need it.
Children
Our website and services are for businesses and organisations and are not aimed at children under 16.
Changes
We will update this page if how we use personal data changes, and revise the date at the top.
